Where did you grow up?

I grew up moving back and forth between Sandy, Utah and Monrovia, California

 

How did you become interested in and how long have you been with Phoenix 360 Fitness?

This past 4th of July weekend I decided I was sick of it. I was sick of not living, watching life pass me by. I was sick of being so heavy, I was sick of hiding, never visiting my family or wanting to go anywhere. I was sick of living like this, I knew there was something more out there. I had finally resolved to do something about it. The very next day, Monday July 6th there was a sponsored deal from Phoenix 360 on my Facebook feed. I took this as a sign and stared the boot camps that night. I didn’t want to waste any more time. I have been attending ever since, 219 days so far.

 

What motivates/inspires/determines you to train and push yourself to your limits?

I have learned to never be satisfied. I don’t view myself or others as what we are, but what we can become, that is exciting for me. “I may not be the strongest, I may not be the fastest, but I’ll be damned if I’m not trying my hardest.” Know your why.

 

How has your training at Phoenix 360 helped you in your life?

My training has led me to believe in myself. My entire mindset has changed. I am no longer afraid of failure, or success. If I fail I will learn something that will help me succeed. I am hungry. I will follow my dreams because it is possible.

 

What accomplishment/Lift are you most proud of?

Just showing up. Never giving up. When I am tired and want to be lazy or am sore and want a break I remember my why and I show up. That is more than what I have done in years. “It’s not over until I win.”

 

How do you balance your time with a job, and taking care of yourself?

You have to work on yourself, every day you need to read something positive, everyday watch or listen to motivational tapes, every day you wake up and envision yourself accomplishing your goals and dreams. Make this a priority. I have just started doing this and it is transforming me. I balance out my job, taking care of my son and myself by cutting out unnecessary things in my life to make room for the life I want to live.

 

If you could give our readers one health tip, what would it be?

Every single day do 1 thing to get out of your comfort zone! Remember that the pain creates the prize. It only takes 1 extra pushup, 1 extra mile, 1 extra military press, 1 extra box jump, 1 extra something to get you were you need to be….never give up…most people quit on the 1 yard line. You are strong enough to do it!
