Where did you grow up?
I’ve spent the most time in Arizona. I’ve been here since I was 13 and before here I spent 8 years in Wisconsin.
How did you become interested in and how long have you been with Phoenix 360 Fitness?
A friend of mine turned me onto Phoenix 360. I’ve been with Phoenix 360 for a little over a year now and what a year! Best decision I’ve ever made.
What Motivates/Inspires/Determines you to train and push your self to your limits?
I’m always competing with myself to do better. I hate leaving a session knowing I didn’t push myself as hard as I could have! The other members of 360 also really inspire and push me to do better. Really amazing people train at 360 and there is always someone who can do things a little better, faster, heavier then me! So when I see them it motivates me to try a little harder.
How has your training at Phoenix 360 helped you in your life?
I’ve become a happier and more confidant person in the past year! I’ve learned that I can do things I never thought possible and reach goals that I set for myself, meet them, and then set new ones. I’ve become a healthier person overall and have been able to make positive life changes that I had been wanting to make but kept finding excuses not to.
What accomplishment/lift are you most proud of?
The Deadlift! I’ve had to really work at being able to lift the bar with correct form and to build up my back strength to be able to add weight. How do you balance your time with a job, and taking care of a family?
It can be tricky to balance everything and often my mommy guilt kicks in when I’m not with my little boys. When this happens I remind myself they would rather have me return happy, laughing and ready to play then at home grumpy and wanting to lock myself in the bathroom! 🙂 Also since I’ve been at this for awhile it has come a part of our lives and they happily send me on my way. However, when I first started it was an adjustment so I bought a family calender and scheduled my workout sessions so that it was in writing for the family to see. This really helped! I still have the boot camp schedule taped up on the wall as a reminder for the family of when I’ll be training.
If you could give our readers one health tip, what would it be?
Be patient and listen to your trainer! When I first started the scale didn’t move much but I could tell I was getting stronger and my clothes were fitting better. I tried to focus on those things instead of the weight on the scale. That helped me to trust the process and give myself the time to work with Ryan to find the right combination of food and exercise that worked for me. Once we found that, things really clicked into place!Whats your favorite quote?
